First off, this being my first post since the New Year, I'd like to thank those of you who've helped make the first year of Fierce Nerditude humongously successful. I nearly died of excitement when I hit 200 followers--I was never expecting it--now that I'm nearing 300, I'm just completely overwhelmed by the support you've all shown me, especially since the last three months have either left me with limited time for blogging/reading blogs, or a non-working computer. Ha!
In any case, I'm going to try and prewrite a whole bunch of posts so I don't have to be missing for a long time again.
Onto the bit about my Final Fantasy Look. This week I'm doing a Vaan-centered look (from FFXII, of course!). Weird, huh?

Honestly, his entire storyline is just tacked onto the story that actually matters. It's one-hundred percent clear that he doesn't affect the plot at all. If just Balthier and Fran had run into Ashe in the Garamsythe Waterway, don't you think things would've played out basically the same way they did?
Vaan could've not been in Final Fantasy XII, and the story would've been all but identical. I know one could say the same about Fran, but she's a side character, and she's never sold as the alleged lead of the story. So gosh, Vaan, you annoy me. Go away.
Ahem, sorry for the rant.
Tools:
- Medium shader (MAC 239)
- Fluffy oval-shaped blending brush (MAC 217)
- Pencil brush (MAC 219)
- Kiss My Sass Cosmetics Lip Glaze in Tinsel Town (Sheer silver)
- Translucent white eyeshadow (This is from a Korean brand with no English on the packaging, but it's just white, so I'm sure you can find a dupe)
- Linnaeus Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Fabled (Silvery powder blue)
- Kiss My Sass Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Sailor's Kiss (Bright blue)
- Linnaeus Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Branchial (Rusty red)
- Hourglass Full Spectrum Film Noir Mascara
Prime. Pat Fabled all over the lid with the 239. Pat Sailor's Kiss onto the outer third with the same brush. Blend the white shadow onto the browbone with the 217, and blend Branchial into the crease with the same brush. Line with a blend of Sailor's Kiss and Fabled on the 219. Mascara!
Lips:
Apply Tinsel Town.
Face:
Foundation as normal.
Eep! Nose pimple! In any case, I don't think this worked out how I wanted. I thought a bright red would be too much, so I went for a duller shade, but I think Branchial would up not popping as much as I'd have liked for this particular look. I think I might have to attempt this again.
So what do you think? Was Vaan a passable main character? Am I just being picky? Do you wonder why in the heck he even bothers wearing that weird little vest/shrug thing? (Come on, he's practically nude from the waist up anyway!)
This series is a collaboration of looks done by Fierce Nerditude and Play Hard, Look Fabulous. All of these looks are inspired by the Final Fantasy series of video games!
