Final Fantasy Inspired: Fang

Yeah, I'm sorry, I know the liner on the lower lashline is messed up. I rubbed my eyes before I took the picture and the damage wasn't readily visible from a more normal distance! In any case, being that I'm on a crazy-long Final Fantasy XII kick (or maybe not that long... I'm writing this post about a month in advance, so I could very well be over it by now) I decided to do some Fang inspired makeup.

I know her eyes are green (right?) but different lighting situations make them look different, and I like them best when they're this amber-y brown shade, so I used some very cool, fierce and (in my opinion) Fang-ish lenses!

Geo Nudy Lenses in Grey

A few weeks back, I was sent a pair of Geo Nudy Lenses in Grey to try out from LensCircle.com. Let me tell you, opening the package was a real pleasure: you'll see why in the post.

Toolsday: Sephora by OPI Nail Polish Remover

I've used a lot of nail polish removers over the years, and most of them were horrid. A necessary evil, if you will. Sephora by OPI's nail polish remover was actually almost... pleasant?

Zoya Nail Polish in Nimue

I'm really into purples, and given that I enjoy the Zoya polish formula, I really thought that I'd adore this polish. Well, unfortunately things just didn't seem to work out that way.

Disney Inspired Look: Minnie Mouse

I wanted to wear falsies for this one, but I'm still no good with them. I even forgot to wear mascara. D'oh! Time for another entry into my Disney collaboration with Robyn (who's done Pinocchio!) It's not the most blended eye in the world, but I wanted the black and white to be slightly separate and not turn gray in between! Sometimes I just feel like keeping colors away from one another, you know?

Anyway, for those of you who are into tidbits about my daily life, please jump to the end. I have loads of stuff to get off my chest!

Kat Von D Lightning Sheer Lip Gloss (Retox and Stripper)

Left to Right: Stripper, Retox
Embarassing confession time. I've used Stripper in at least two looks for this blog so far (my Larxene Inspired Look and my King Louie Inspired Look) and I accidentally called it Hustler. Both times. Oops. I corrected both instances, but seriously, there's a gloss in this same formula with a dead on description that matches Stripper, and it really is called Hustler! Anyway... I spotted that these are on sale for super cheap right now, so I thought I'd review some of the ones I have.

MAC Eyeshadows in Flip and Coppering

This is one of those things I wanted to post about forever ago but never got around to actually posting about. Phyrra, who is, hands down, one of the nicest people full stop, sent these to me a couple of months ago for no real reason other than to be an awesome human being.

See, I'd been looking for the perfect gold eyeshadow for a while, and Flip was it but it was limited edition. It was so cool of Phyrra to send hers to me (and Coppering, too!)

Final Fantasy Inspired: Irvine

Hey, guys! It's Friday again, so I'm gonna let Christa take it away!

It's no secret that my favorite game is Final Fantasy 8. I have vowed to do an inspired look for the main and secondary characters. This weeks look is inspired by the flirtatious ladies man Irvine Kinneas.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Rhône

If you know me in real life, you'll know that I never really wear red lipstick. Maybe the occasional burgundy wine, but bright red? Yeah... no. It's just a very high maintenance color. If it's dry, you have to do all the prep-work, and if it's not? It goes all over the place. As a bright cherry red, Rhône is the type of color I rarely buy.

Geo Xtra Series Lenses in Love Green

The second pair of lenses that I tried from iCandy Style were super special, so I decided to save them for last... out of two. I know it's silly, but I always save best for last!

I wore these this past Sunday for my Yzma Inspired Look, and a lovely reader contacted me letting me know that there are some people who call these 'Geo Xtras in Love Green' or 'Geo Xtra Loves in Green'. In any case, I figured calling them 'Geo Xtras in Love Green' would be less mind-numbing than repeatedly typing WT-A03 whenever I want to refer to them, so that's what I'm going to do (just FYI).

Zoya Nail Polish in Marina

This is the fourth Zoya Polish I'm trying out, but the fifth one I'm posting about... because I feel like it. Woohoo! You guy's know I've been kind of into blue eyeshadow lately, and I've been really enjoying me some blue polishes, too (I have a tendency to get super matchy-matchy with things like that).

Toolsday: MAC 217

It's Toolsday again, and this week I'm talking about another favorite MAC brush of mine. Like the 129, this was a part of my very first MAC purchase! If I were to use just one blending brush for the rest of my life, it'd be the MAC 217.

Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion: Review and Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to try out a very interesting new product--Prrty Peaushun's Skin Tight Body Lotion. It really isn't like anything else I've ever tried, and I'm pleased to say that I enjoy it!

Disney Inspired Look: Yzma

This week Robyn gave me Yzma--admittedly one of the Disney Villains I have a lot of trouble remembering. Also, I had to manually publish this post because Blogger scheduling has failed me again. BOO!

Admittedly, the green lenses here are on for no real reason, other than the fact that I happened to be wearing them that day. If you're curious, they're Geo Xtras in Green number WT-A03--I can't find an easier name to use.

Zoya Nail Polish in Tao

Pardon the slight bubbling: I was a bit overzealous with a new top coat, and you know what that can look like. Trust me, it wasn't the polish. I tested it a second time to make sure. Anyway, I love the uniqueness of Zoya's color selection--I've found so many shades within just this collection that are just so special! Tao is very different from any shade I've seen (at least recently).

MAC Viva Glam I Lipstick

I don't wear red lips very often: I honestly just don't think I look that good in red! One of the very few red lipsticks that I own (at least that isn't a more deep wine sort of shade) is MAC's Viva Glam I.

Final Fantasy Inspired: Ashe II

When I did my first Ashe Inspired Look, I mentioned that I'd soon be revisiting it. It's actually been a few months now, but I'm doing it. The main thing that I didn't like about when I did this last time was the fact that blending my blue into my gold made it green (not that I shouldn't have seen that coming), so I decided to change a color or two and alter the placement a bit. It's not the same look, but it's similar. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Walking on Eggshells

I have to admit, I did this one really quickly when I was running out the door, so it's not much, but I think it shows how well the Walking on Eggshells palette can do on its own.

Wet N' Wild Color Icon Trio: Walking on Eggshells

So here's the last Color Icon Trio I'm going to be reviewing for a while. I just need a break, you know? Anyway, I bought this at the same time as I bought Silent Treatment, and while the colors aren't exactly my style, I do like the combo enough.

Pop.C Lenses in Dark Brown

I'm totally into circle lenses now, as I'm sure you all have noticed. Just recently, I was excited to get my first prescription pair. These were sent along for review by DBeautyShop. They happen to be my first pair of lenses that aren't by Geo, and I also think they look absolutely wicked!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow: Grind

I know there's no real point to writing a negative review of something that isn't really available anymore, but can I do it anyway? Please? Yes? Thank you!

Zoya Nail Polish in Yara

If you have enough polish, you'll know that loads of shades wind up being very, very similar. But this shade? I actually don't have anything else quite like this. Considering all of the polishes I have, that's pretty awesome!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow: Chains

I hatehatehate when cool things are discontinued. Time for another review of a discontinued and awesome item. Like Acid Rain, I got this shade really cheap on HauteLook (invitation) forever ago.

Geo Ultra Angel Lenses in Blue

Recently I was sent two awesome pairs of circle lenses for review from iCandy Style Lens. I have to say, while subtle lenses are fun on occasion, these look bright, bold and are so dramatically gorgeous. Just my style, no?

Kat Von D True Romance Palette in True Love

Like I said, I love me some Kat Von D, and I bought this a long, long time ago along with the Metal Orchestra palette. Two years! Wow!

Disney Inspired Look: Ursula

While I was super excited to get Ursula from Robyn, I think the look I did was really boring. Unfortunately, the only day I had the time to do makeup was Friday, which also happens to be lab day. Lab=Lab Goggles. Goggles+Heavy Eye Makeup? The results tend to be iffy at best. I also wound up skipping lipstick and foundation (Have you ever worn foundation with lab goggles? EW!), and I couldn't do fun lenses because contact lenses are a safety hazard in a laboratory environment, and I forgot mascara, so basically this was barely even a look. More like a look-ish thing. I swear I'm going to set more time aside for these things in the future, because I hate disappointing myself this way.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Bouquet

I have to admit, while I do love warm pinks, I have a soft spot for blue pinks as well: while my skin tone is warm, my lips are naturally cool toned, so I feel like when a color isn't quite opaque, cooler shades do tend to work better. Bite Beauty offers a very pretty blue pink called Bouquet!

Kat Von D True Romance Palette in Metal Orchestra

If you've been reading my blog for a decently long amount of time, you'll know that I really enjoy Kat Von D's line of products. I have for a long time. I bought this almost two years ago, and it was marked limited edition... and yet it's still around? Not sure how limited edition this actually is, but now it's marked down about ten bucks. I'm writing this in August, a little ahead of time, so let's hope it's still available by the time this goes live, 'cause it is a great palette. And at $24? You can't really go wrong.

Final Fantasy Inspired Look: Paine

I have to say, I was intrigued when Christa told me how excited she was to send me this week's look. Oh my goodness, you guys, it's gorgeous! What a perfect way to start my Friday!
It's Friday woot woot!! This week's look is one of my favorites!! I actually haven't play this game in forever but may need too!

Milani Liquif'eye Automatic Pencils (Green, Blue and Purple)

Top to Bottom: Blue, Purple, Green
So, a while back I won a giveaway from Wendy a while back, and she very sweetly sent these along as extras because she had them lying around. Sweet! I've been using them for a while, and to be honest my feelings on these liners are a little mixed.

Linnaeus Cosmetics Review: The Axolotl Collection

Left to Right: Archetypal, Puerile, Branchial
Red eyeshadow? Linnaeus's Axolotl Collection, you had me at hello. Seriously, this color combo caught my attention from the first second... even if I had no idea what an Axolotl was until I Googled it. It's a salamander, in case y'all are wondering.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Rosé

Question: Is Rosé the French word for pink? My sister has taken French but she's not sure that there's an accent over the e. Anyway, there's definitely an accent over the e in Rosé: either because it's the French word (seriously, can someone confirm or negate this?) or... just for giggles maybe?

French or not, Rosé is a lovely shade!

Toolsday: MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist

MAC Paint Pots are my favorite cream shadow thus far. They're delightfully pigmented, they spread well, and they've got amazing slip for something so... not creamy.

A lot of people use these as their go-to primer, and I can see why. I know the big favorites tend to be Painterly and Soft Ochre, but my personal favorite is probably Constructivist.

Zoya Nail Polish in Jem

And so my exploration of the Zoya Smoke and Mirrors collection continues! This time, I decided to go for Jem, another gorgeous color that Zoya released for Autumn.

Kingdom Hearts Inspired Look: Axel

One of my favorite characters in the Kingdom Hearts series of games was Axel. I've been planning on posting an Axel Inspired Look forever, but I just never got around to actually doing it.

Disney Inspired Look: Stitch

So I've been going to school lately, and my eye looks have gotten a bit more simplistic. Not less bright, mind you, just fewer colors at once. I have about five minutes for makeup, so I've literally been doing only looks that take that long or shorter (even though with blog posts I really do prefer to take my time!) Hope you all don't mind!

Sorry about the delay on this post, as well. Apparently blogger didn't want to publish it when I had it scheduled, so I had to do it manually after I came home from shopping... I figured while I was at it I'd add in this little update as well: I bought Chanel Peridot! Would you guys like to see me review it, or have you seen enough of it on other blogs?

Silent Treatment

I told you guys this palette was just beautiful, didn't I? I pretty much had to do a post using it--not that I wouldn't have anyway, but... you know. Sorry for the slight issue with the shadow on the lower lashline. I did this makeup when I was about half awake and then accidentally rubbed the color away from the outer third. Ugh!

Good thing I wear bulky glasses. You wouldn't have seen a thing in person!

Wet N' Wild Color Icon Trio: Silent Treatment

Ever think a product would just be okay and then get seriously wow'd? After I finished up testing the six palettes that Wet N Wild sent to me for review, I was so impressed in general that I picked up some more stuff from their brand, among them this palette. I expected to like Silent Treatment, but I didn't expect to fall in love.

Final Fantasy Inspired Look: Sazh

I know that not everyone love Final Fantasy XII, but I really, really did, so I hope you guys don't mind my doing a huge number of Final Fantasy XIII looks! This time, I'm doing a look based on Sazh!

Favorites: August 2011

What, it's favorites time again? Anyway, August was one hell of a month. I've been trying to schedule as many September and October posts as humanly possible so that even if I'm busy with school (goodness gracious--it's been a good while since I've been in a classroom) I'll still have posts going up.
