Sephora by OPI Glee Collection: Mash Up

I have a complicated history with Sephora by OPI polishes. Mainly, in the past I haven't found them to be that... good? When this color caught my eye, though, I just had to have it.

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick: Homegirl and Mi Vida Loca

Hey, guys! I was planning on posting about the Sephora by OPI Glee Collection today, but I was reading one of my favorite beauty blogs, and I spied that Kat Von D's Painted Love Lipstick in Mi Vida Loca is currently 8 bucks on Sephora's website, so I thought I'd put this post up a bit earlier than I'd originally intended. It is a review including Mi Vida Loca and my murdered tube of Homegirl. It's still in there but the lipstick broke, so I have to use a lip brush to put it on.

Kingdom Hearts Inspired Look: Larxene I (The MAC Version)

Last year I played Kingdom Hearts for the first time. Somewhere near the beginning, though (the Tarzan level) I switched games and completely forgot about it. I got back to it this September, though, full force. Once I finished, I realized I'd loved it so much I had to get the sequels. I played the next two games in rather quick succession in November. One of my favorite characters in Chain of Memories was Larxene, even though fighting her was a pain in the you-know-where. I did a look a week or two inspired by her using some Inglot makeup. It came out great, but I figured since not everyone can get Inglot I'd use MAC. It's a little duller, but the spirit is still captured. So here's for my Larxene inspired look!

The Body Shop: Mango Shower Gel

The Body Shop's Mango Shower Gel is a wonderfully mango-scented gel, recommended for very dry skin. The front of its label bills it as 'Exotic soap-free cleansing with moisturizing mango extract'. So how does it perform?

Urban Decay's 15-Year Anniversary Glide-On Pencil Set

As a die-hard Urban Decay fan, I'm pretty much obligated to share my opinion of this set. I mean, it's practically the law, right? This set has pretty much all of the colors you could ever need, and since its announcement, I knew I'd get it. In fact, I bought it within the hour it went up for sale on Urban Decay's website.

M.A.C. Viva Glam Gaga II

One of my favorite lipsticks that came out last year was MAC's Viva Glam Gaga, so naturally I had to run out and get Viva Glam Gaga 2. The Viva Glam Gaga 2 release included one lipstick and one lipglass that are extremely complimentary of one another.

Stila Travel Palette: Trendsetting in Tokyo

Stila has some amazing and incredibly affordable travel palettes. I bought three of these palettes, and I have to say that of the three this is my favorite by far.

Stila Travel Palette: Fabulous in Fiji

The second Stila Travel Palette I purchased is called Fabulous in Fiji. The colors in this palette are ocean-y, including three different shades of blue and a green. You also get a convertible color called Plumeria in this little fella, which is a very pretty reddish-bronze shade.

Stila Travel Palette: Adventurous in Aspen

Stila's travel palettes are amazingly affordable at just ten bucks each. Each palette includes four shadows and one convertible color. Naturally, that means I had to pick up three. This one is Stila's Adventurous in Aspen palette, and it has some lovely wintery shades.

Urban Decay's Naked Palette

When I bought the Naked Palette, I had no idea about the hype. I was out at Sephora the very same week it came out and there were about twenty sitting there. No shortage, not yet. I figured, 'Heck, why not? I like Urban Decay!' However, as I was walking around the store looking for other things to add to my little Sephora basket, several sales associates came up to me and told me what a great choice I'd made (four different ones!), so I was ridiculously excited to get this particular item home. That was last summer. Now, because of the high demand for this palette, Urban Decay has had to replace the double liner that came with it with one of their brushes instead (and up the price two bucks). Since the demand for the Naked Palette is still so incredible, I thought I'd give my take on it.

Smashbox Iconic Eyes Palette

I'm a huge fan of the little 'Weekly Specials' section on the front page of the Sephora site. It always includes some great deals from higher end brands. When I was making my massive Sephora haul, I decided to pick this up. Right now, the Smashbox Iconic Eyes Palette is only twelve bucks!

The Kat Von D Eye Brush Set is a gorgeous set of five eye brushes with the Kat Von D line's signature roses stamped on both the handles and all the way around the case. The set includes an angled shadow brush, a blending brush, an angled brow brush, a flat eyeliner brush and a smudge brush.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

A year and a half ago I had the worst eczema flare up of my life. I won't go too far into detail, but it was bad enough that I broke the skin itching. Not fun at all. When I went to see the dermatologist, she recommended many things, and among them was using CeraVe moisturizing lotion daily. The idea of putting anything on the patches of raw, itchy skin didn't feel appealing, but being that my doctor recommended it and I'd do anything to fix my skin, I went ahead with it.

Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art: Purple Sprinkles

Purple Sprinkles
Last but not least of the Hello Kitty polishes I bought recently is Purple Sprinkles. Purple sprinkles is a sheer, grapey purple with iridescent blue, green, purple and gold glitter. Worn in one coat you get a glittery wash of purple and worn in two, as seen above you can get complete opacity.

Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art: Blueberry

Blueberry
Have you ever loved a formula of a product but found a color of that product that simply did not perform? This is the opposite of that. Hello Kitty's Liquid Nail Art in Blueberry is a beautiful periwinkle shade of polish, and it's every bit as good as Minty and Banana Cream were not.

Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art: Banana Cream

Banana Cream

My thoughts as I was using Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art in Minty went something like, "Wow, I don't think a nail polish can get much worse than this." My thoughts as I was using Banana Cream? "Wow, I think one just did."

Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art: Minty

Minty
When the new Hello Kitty line was announced at Sephora I was so excited! Particularly about the nail polishes. I love Hello Kitty, I love nail polish, I love cute little bottles... How could getting these not be a good idea?

To put it gently, this polish really, really sucked.

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick: Hellbent and Lolita

When the Kat Von D line at Sephora first came out, I was totally thrilled. I love super pigmented, brightly colored makeup, and the pretty packaging was to die for! Over time, I've really come to favor the Kat Von D lip products. The first I'd ever tried were the painted love lipsticks in Lolita, Homegirl and Hellbent. (I'd bought them all in a set together!)

Prefer On

When I first saw those Head On commercials, they annoyed me so much that I vowed I'd never buy anything from the folks who made it. However, when I complained to a friend of mine about my acne scarring, she assured me that Prefer On worked really well. Not forgetting my annoyance with their choice of advertisement, I held off on buying it. However, I did wind up getting it eventually, in an act of desperation.

I'm so glad I did.

Tokidoki Glitter Eyeliner Set

Top to Bottom: Melodia, SANDy, Al Dente, Meteo, Bianca, Unicorno

I really love a lot of the tokidoki brand stuff at Sephora. I think it's really underrated, which sucks because they make some of my favorite products, namely the Brillante Glitter Eyeliner pencils.

I'm a huge fan of glittery eye makeup, but with most products, the glitter seems to have a life of its own. These are, hands down, my favorite glitter product, because the shades are super pigmented, the liners last all day, and the glitter actually stays in place. That's right glitter lovers, a glitter product where the glitter actually stays  where you put it!

Hello Universe!

Nerdy stuff? I can't remember a time when I haven't loved it. I've loved makeup for a long time, too: Almost two years now, actually! In all that time, I've done a lot of collecting, testing, comparing, and hunting for the right stuff. In fact, I've done so much of it it seems like a shame to keep it all private, so I decided to start logging my amazing cosmetic exploits on the internet. What better way to do that than to blog?

Fierce Nerditude is my blog, and it's dedicated to all of the delightfully fierce nerds and nerdettes out there. I'll be using it to write about makeup, nerdy and otherwise, and with any luck, some other fabulous ladies and gents who are in touch with their inner (our outer) nerds will enjoy it, as well.

I'll be posting again soon!
