Makeup Tips For Women With Dark Features

Good morning, everyone! A little while back, I was contacted by Aleya, who wanted to do a guest post or two for my blog. After showing me a couple of her other guest posts, I was really excited for her to write a couple of posts for me. This one in particular has some really great tips for darker skinned ladies, and I hope everyone enjoys! I'll be posting another by her next week, so if you enjoy this one, keep a look out!
Women with dark features are blessed because they look fantastic in color. Whether you’re trying to highlight chocolaty brown eyes, enhance the appearance of golden skin or create the perfect pout you can use pretty much any color you like and get traffic stopping results. If you’ve never really tried to wear bold colors are would like some new tips here’s a few that will surely flatter your look.
Stunning Eyes
Girls with brown eyes and dark skin and hair can play with any eye shadow color there is to create a wide range of looks because color will look vibrant on you.  So go ahead and try out any shade of pink, blue, green and purple that you like. Take it one step further by mixing two or more colors together to create a more artistic look. Use shimmery metallic for a more futuristic makeup look. Or keep it simple by using shades of brown and pink for a more natural look.
Luscious Lashes
Many women prefer to brown mascara for the summer months however brown mascara isn’t a good idea for women with olive skin and dark hair because it will wash you out. Black mascara will give you a more dramatic look and accentuate your features.

Striking Cheekbones
Using a warm shade of apricot or peach will really make your cheekbones stand out. However be careful to not go too heavy or you’ll look messy. Instead apply a little at a time so that you have more control over your look.

Get Glowing
Use a bronzer to highlight your T zone ranging from your forehead, going down your nose and over your chin. This will bring out the best of your features while pushing back the not so great ones. If you like you can even skip the blush and use bronzer instead to get a beautiful healthy looking glow.

Full Lips

Lipstick has more staying power but lip gloss has more shine so depending on what your needs are you can use either one to extenuate the fullness of your lips. If you plan on wearing a true red or a burgundy make sure to line your lips and color them in with the liner so that the lipstick won’t bleed. Pinks, corals and nude colors will give you a fresher look and can be worn during the day or at night. The only colors that you have to be careful with on your lips are purple and black. Purple lipstick can blend in with your skin tone making it look as if you don’t have lips while black lipstick or liner doesn’t look good on anyone.
It’s all really a matter of spending some time at your favorite makeup counter and playing with lots and lots of colors until you find a few that you love. Have fun and stay beautiful.
