Geo Xtra Series Lens in Forest Violet

Fun fact: I'm doing this post instead of writing a speech I have to do on Thursday. Ha!

Some of you will recognize this pair of lenses from the Buzz Lightyear look I did two Sundays ago. This was another pair of lenses sent to me by iCandyStyle, and they are super fun! I love lenses from Geo's Xtra series. They're huge, and they have really interesting patterns and colors. You might recall that the last pair of Geo Xtras I reviewed were the 'Love Green' ones: these come in the same vial as those. Also like the other lenses, these aren't always referred to by the name 'Forest Violet'. Their model number is WT-B61, for reference.

Stats: These have 38% water content, as is typical of Geos. They have a huge 15.00 mm diameter, for those of us who like 'em big. The base curve is 8.70, and these are annually disposable. Unfortunately for the vision-impaired among us, these are plano only!

Check 'em out in the case!

These, unlike most of the other lenses I've reviewed, don't have a particularly defined limbal ring, but I think it works well for the busy iris design. As you can see, these lenses have raggedly spaced out black inward strokes of uneven thickness. It makes for a very cool unnatural effect on the eyes.

As you can see, the lens is nicely opaque on my very dark eyes and gives very good enlargement for people who like bigger better.

As you can see, the purple color change is an obvious one. Honestly, I think purple lenses look great on anyone... sort of like purple eyeshadow!

These are very comfortable on me. I can wear them for six hours with no problem whatsoever--I've worn them five times with no issues.

The Good:
  • Very cool design from up close--really interesting iris pattern with a low definition limbal ring to balance it out a bit.
  • I really enjoy the design, and I think the opaqueness of the lens serves the pattern well.
  • I found these comfortable!
  • I got my lenses very quickly from iCandy Style.
  • These can last up to a full year.
The Bad:
See neutral, maybe.

The Neutral:
  • These are very large lenses. Personally, I like them, but they might not be what everyone is looking for.
  • As far as I know, these lenses are plano (non prescription) only.
Overall, I really think these are really fun. The design is beautiful and I love the shade of violet. They enlarge a lot and give opaque color coverage, so I think people looking for a less natural lens will be very happy with this pair, unless they really need prescription lenses. I'm happy having these under my glasses.

These are currently $27.40 from iCandy Style.
