MAC Indigo Pink Lipglass and Riveting Rose Lipstick

As a self-confessed purple fiend, naturally I needed to pick up Indigo Pink Lipglass and Riveting Rose Lipstick!

Indigo Pink Lipglass
Indigo Pink is a deep, sheer red-purple. It's not too sheer. It has a slight tendency to settle into lip lines, but it doesn't do so in a way that's highly visible from what I call a reasonable-talking-distance: the distance away from you that the average person would be standing if you were having a conversation. As you can see, a camera would notice, though. Like I said, it does settle, but only slightly.

Riveting Rose Lipstick
Is a deep purple that leans slightly red with a frost finish. It's much more pigmented than the average frost finish lipstick and it wears really well. I had no problem with five hours. Building the color up to opacity is effortless: a few swipes will do it. It's creamy, moisturizing and it's purple! Naturally, I love it.

These two look really great together. Riveting Rose seems to give opacity and a bit of blue to Indigo Pink and Indigo Pink gives Riveting Rose just a touch of red!

The Good:
  • Both the lipstick and gloss are very pigmented.
  • Both of these have great wear, both alone and on top of one another.
  • Great color, in my opinion!
  • Both of these are moisturizing products.
 The Bad:
  • The lipglass can settle into liplines a bit.
The Neutral:
  • These have MAC's signature vanilla scent.
  • Lipglass is sticky, as all MAC Lipglasses are.
Overall, if you like or want to try purple lips, this is a great way to do it. Both of these have a great formula and gave me no issues in terms of pigmentation or wear. They're also both moisturizing, so those with dry lips may like these a lot as well!

These are limited edition and currently available at MAC stores, counters and online for $14.50.
