MAC Frayed to Order Nail Lacquer

Pardon the sheer artsiness of the photo above, but getting Frayed To Order to look the way it does in real life is hard. Basically, it looks like the color in the bottle but matte. It's white but it has a distinct pinkness to it.

I picked this polish up an hour ago, as it was released in stores and at counters today with the MAC Jeanius collection. It's a very interesting polish, as I'm sure you've already heard. In photos it generally tends to look like a plain matte white, though it has a glow that seems to come from within it. Seriously.

As with many mattes application is on the difficult side. It tends to streak a lot and if you're doing thin layers forget opacity in two coats. You'll be lucky to get it in four. Matte polishes don't tend to last very long on the nails, so it most likely doesn't have long wear going for it either (That's not exactly the product's fault, though. It was born that way).

The end result, however, is super-unique, and it definitely seems to have gotten a lot of people's attention: I bought the last one at my counter at noon today.

Pardon the mess of polish I made on my cuticles. I was trying to work fast. xP
The Good:
  • Incredibly unique. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
  • Fast drying, but then all mattes are.
The Bad:
A lot of the stuff listed under neutral could count. See below.

The Neutral:
  • All the downfalls of a matte formula: streakiness and difficulty of application, et cetera.
Overall, I recommend this to any polish collector who wants something cool to add to their collection. To someone who just likes to paint it on and go, this will probably be to difficult to work with and not worth the general fussiness.

This is currently available at MACCosmetics.com, MAC counters and MAC stores for $14.00. It'll probably sell out quickly, though!
